Pesto is a cold paste based on pounded fresh herbs, nuts and oil. Originally used by the Italians as a sauce on fresh pasta (“Linguine al pesto”), it is also used as a condiment nowadays in a myriad ways - mixed with mayonnaise or vinaigrette for zippy salad dressings; tossing through hot vegetables; adding to everything from soups, sauces and dips; on grilled fish, steaks or chicken; in or on breads, muffins and pizzas; the list goes on and on...... and kids love it !!
PASTA D'ORO PREMIUM QUALITY
FRESH BASIL
A distinctly flavoured thick paste of fresh basil leaves, pinenuts, parmesan, garlic and olive oil. May be thinned with olive oil or cream. Use on fresh pasta; with meat; in salad dressings, dips, crostini, etc.
SUNDRIED TOMATO
A flavoursome thick paste of sundried tomatoes, fresh basil, pinenuts, garlic & olive oil. Great on steaks or fish or use as for Basil Pesto.
RED CAPSICUM
A tasty paste of chargrilled capsicums, roasted hazelnuts, parmesan and garlic. Great with fish, and just about everything else !!
KALAMATA OLIVE (Tapenade)
A mediterranean Tapenade made with kalamata and black olives, sundried tomatoes, almonds and spices with a touch of chilli and anchovy. Great on crostini, pizzas or dips, etc
FRESH CORIANDER
A subtle flavour of fresh coriander leaves and parsley, pinenuts, parmesan, garlic and olive oil. Fabulous with grilled fish.
FRESH MINT
A refreshing combination of fresh mint leaves, pinenuts, garlic and olive oil. Thin with oil or vinegar, if required. Perfect for boiled new potatoes, or with bbq'd lamb. Dairy-free - suitable for vegans.
CHUNKY CASHEWS & BASIL
Chunky cashew nuts with fresh basil, shaved parmesan cheese, balsamic vinegar, garlic and cracked pepper. Gives the "breads & spread" platter a real lift.
